4x4 and away we gooo...

This weekend we headed out with some friends to explore this gorgeous island we live on. We got half way out to Jagged Head but couldn't quite get there as the tide was to high.. we did however stop at one of the creeks and spent an hour or so fishing, collecting shells and generally frolicking in the sun :)

Then we headed off to a different point; Hanging Rock, after getting bogged pretty bad (thanks guys for pulling us through ;), we made it and had a great picnic afternoon, rock climbing and exploring! What a great way to start the school holidays :)

Do you have fun adventures planned for the school holidays? i'd love to here some :)

Casualties

Poor little Buster (Coopers beloved teddy) was a casualty of our busy weekend and ended up with an under arm tear :( Today was a relax and recover day, so Buster was booked in for day surgery and is now on the mend ;)

Queens birthday

We have had the most sociable weekend celebrating the birthday of our beloved Queen. We celebrated with a mix of new friends, old friends, red friends, blue friends, (sorry the day care is sending me a bit mad with the repetions of books, i think i read Dr Seuss's one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish 18 times on Thursday hehe) any who, on friday we had a BBQ with the local South African crew whom are an absolute blast to hang with. It was also a night of introducing us to home brew liquor, which i can happily report is surprisingly delicious ;)

Cooper and i headed into town for a play date on Saturday. Which was great and just what i needed, sometimes its a little challenging as an adult to make friends, especially ones that you have genuine a connection with; apart from having children the same age that is. We really did have fantastic time; a few hour catch up soon turned into a 5 hour chatting sesh! thank you Renee, Irene and Carley for the invite, we can't wait for the next one! i do think i'll have to pack a lunch next time though hehe.

Aaron played footy that afternoon with the local guys and kicked two winning goals! so proud. That night we headed in again to a late bbq, bomb fire and toasting marshmellows at the Reid's.

Sunday morning we were invited out to Leske pools again with Candice, Andre and the rest of the South African crew; we were all a little tired but still had a great time relaxing by the water, while the boys swam.
After a quick afternoon nap we hopped back in the car to have dinner with the Williams! I met Carley at our little play date, she is a remarkable mother of 6 girls! one who is in Louis' class, a gorgeous set of twins who are Coops age and a little one Harry's age!! we packed the head lamps and after dark trekked through bush to look for woodland animals, which turned out to be mostly spiders as Aaron was a little loud hehe; all in all a great evening and weekend :)

Seeds

Whilst we were in darwin last,we picked up a few little packets of seeds, to hopefully grow a few of our own veggies/herbs, (or at lest just see what we can actually keep alive up here in this humidity.)

We planted beetroot, mint, basil, parsley and two types of spinach. The spinach sprouted up with in two days, so coops is ecstatic about that, i also spotted a little beetroot and basil sprouts today too… can't wait to be self sufficient well sort of hehe

Tea Time

//New frilled crop top with Cotton On high waisted acid wash shorts (last season)//

This week my darling girl Betty was desexed, she was such a little trooper through it all and is very much on the mend now, it does mean no more mini Betty's though :(

//My new bralette from Spell in Byron Bay and the new Frankie spaces mag which is a fabulous read very inspiring// The new Daphne frilled crop tops available via Etsy soon// Tea Time

Today i headed into the Inspire Me gift shop and Tea Garden with a few dresses and wow what a great morning. The atmosphere was relaxed with lots of little garden nooks to drink tea, chat with some friends. I do think though i had a few to many of T2's Red green and dreamy, i'm not sure if thats even possible, but its going to take me all afternoon to wind down… Hope you've all had a great weekend :)

Fun in the Sun

Aaron went fishing on saturday, i was that exhausted from my 3 days at the day care there was no way i had an energy to go fishing as well. So instead the boys and i cruised around the spare block on the bikes until it got so hot that a play under the sprinkler was the only way to cool off! gosh i love the pic of Harry!!
Our Sunday started with delicious bacon and eggs for breakie followed by a little catch up bridesmaid dress sewing, which i can't wait to show you. Then we headed out to with some friends to Leaske Pools; a fun little water hole that has the occasional crocodile in it ;/, today however wasn't one of those days, the water was really clear and croc free… ahh so refreshing and a great end to a relaxing weekend!

Day Care

A little while ago i enrolled to do my Diploma in Childcare, this decision was made for a variety of reasons; the biggest being.. we have so many plans for our renovators dream home in Warrnambool, but do not want to move back to Victoria with out the funds to accomplish it :) so me working (only 2 days)enables me to help out even more financially and still have my little cherubs with me, win win for us really! soo today was my first day… i can't believe how nervous i was :p
